The terms, in plain English
Here's what you're agreeing to when you visit the website or the long room, set out as clearly as we can manage.
Why bother with terms?
Because it's fair to know the ground rules before you turn up, and fairer still to write them in words you'd use at the dinner table. We've tried to keep every sentence short and every heading honest.
By booking a table, sending a message or walking through the door, you accept these terms. If something doesn't make sense, ring the booking desk and Christine will explain it.
The terms, one at a time
What these terms cover
The website at boronialounge.com and every visit to 57 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine. They cover bookings, the dining room, the long room and how we treat each other. They don't change any right you have under Australian consumer law.
Bookings
A booking request isn't a confirmed booking until Christine has replied by email. Dinner tables are held for fifteen minutes after the time you gave, and seats in the long room are held for the evening. You can cancel any time, by telephone or email, with no charge.
Links to other places
The site may link to maps or other businesses in the Meander Valley. We don't control those pages and can't answer for them. Please read their own terms before relying on anything they say.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Australian law. If a disagreement can't be sorted out over a cup of tea with the floor manager, it'll go to the courts of Tasmania, which both you and the Lounge accept.
Complaints
Tell the host or Angus on the night, or write to the booking address. We reply to every complaint in writing within seven days. If you aren't happy with the answer, you can take it to the state consumer authority.
Age limit
The long room is for guests aged 18 and over. Photo ID is checked at the old ticket booth on every visit, and we may turn away anyone who can't show it. Younger guests can dine downstairs with an adult.
Chips with no value
Every game is played on chips. They're counters from the Lounge with no money value, and they can't be bought, sold, swapped or taken out of the room. No game involves money, and the only thing on offer is a name on the honour board. Nothing is offered or played online.
Liability
We take reasonable care of guests and their belongings, but we can't answer for things left unattended or for events outside our control, like weather, road closures or a fallen tree on the Mole Creek road. Nothing here limits a right you have under Australian consumer law.
Photos, words and rights
The photos and text on this site belong to the Lounge and can't be copied without written permission. That includes the photographs of the ceiling, which are surprisingly popular, and every word on the menu.
Changes
We may change these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies on the day you read it, and the date of your visit decides which version applies to the visit itself.
